Help Emergency Managers Build Better IAPs and Earn Extra Income
OpPeriod is incident management software for small and mid‑size agencies that speeds up IAP development. We partner with working emergency management professionals who want to represent OpPeriod in their region without leaving their current role.
We built OpPeriod to fix the painful, repetitive parts of IAP work you deal with every operational period. As we grow, we would rather partner with experienced EM professionals in each state than hire generic software salespeople. If you know the IAP grind and want a flexible way to earn more, this role is for you.
As an independent representative, you keep your full‑time job and only work OpPeriod into your schedule when it makes sense. You’ll introduce the platform to your network, run demos, and earn recurring commission on accounts you bring in. There is no quota‑chasing culture or daily check‑ins, just clear expectations and support so you can confidently talk about the product.

Independent Sales Representative - Emergency Management Software (1099 Commission-Only)
Description:
OpPeriod is incident management software built for small-to-medium emergency management agencies, fire departments, and other public safety agencies. We help professionals build Incident Action Plans faster by syncing shared operational-period data across ICS forms and generating clean PDF IAP packets in minutes.
We're an early-stage company looking for experienced emergency management professionals to represent OpPeriod in their state or region in a part-time capacity. You keep your current job and sell to your professional network when opportunities come up.
What You'll Do:
- Introduce OpPeriod to county emergency managers, municipal EM coordinators, fire departments, and other public safety partners in your assigned territory
- Conduct product demos (virtual or in-person)
- Answer questions about features, pricing, and implementation
- Follow up with prospects and close annual subscription sales
- Support renewals with existing customers
Compensation:
- 25% commission on each new annual subscription
- 10% commission on renewals
- Paid on the 15th of the month following the sale
This is commission-only. No base salary, no hourly pay, no benefits. You earn when customers subscribe.
Territory:
- You'll be assigned an exclusive state or regional territory. We protect your territory as long as you maintain minimum activity (2 demos or outreach activities per month).
Who Should Apply:
- Currently work full-time in emergency management, fire service, or public safety
- 3+ years of experience with ICS, IAPs, IMTs, or EOC operations
- Know county emergency managers, fire chiefs, or municipal coordinators in your region
- Understand the IAP workflow and can speak credibly about operational period planning
- Want extra income without leaving your current job
- Comfortable with virtual demos and email/phone follow-up
Requirements:
- U.S. resident with work authorization
- Active professional network in emergency management or fire service
- Own computer/phone/internet for demos
- Complete IRS Form W-9
- Not employed by a competing incident management software company
